Giving back to the community I live in and to a society that I want to contribute towards has always been a big part of who I am. While my very first job, as a fresh university graduate, was that of a High School teacher, later in life I was drawn towards working with vulnerable adults, understanding their needs and making a positive difference to their lives. 

My first job in the care industry has been that of a support worker in supported living, working with adults with learning disabilities, autism and Down Syndrome, enabling them to have independent and fulfilling lives. I learnt a lot from the people I supported, and they made a huge positive difference to my own development as a professional and as a human being, just as I saw their confidence grow, while their independence and abilities grew with my support. 

Later on, I decided I wanted to do more, by becoming a senior support worker, a deputy manager and, finally, a registered manager. I explored other care settings and I am very grateful to be able to now make a real difference to the lives of our elderly clients, who have given so much throughout and now need our support. I was very fond of my own grandmother and I cherish her memory, everything I learnt from her, the stories of her generation. I am now a highly motivated, passionate, compassionate and determined manager, happy to lead a great team of carers into making a positive contribution by delivering a hight standard of care to our elderly clients.
