Volunteers Bringing Friendship to the Lives of Older Adults
In the heart of Crowthorne, we recognise the challenges faced by older individuals who are isolated at home, struggling with loneliness.
At Right at Home Camberley & Woking, we've taken the initiative to address this issue through our Befriending Service.
Please note: Our Befriending Service is currently available in the Crowthorne area.
Our Service
Our Befriending Service offers a simple yet powerful solution: weekly or bi-weekly one-hour visits from our dedicated volunteers, who we fondly call "Friends of Right at Home."
These visits take place in the comfort of the Client's own home, providing an opportunity for a warm cup of tea, a friendly chat, or even encouraging a short outing.
What We Don't Offer
Our Befriending Service is completely voluntary. As a result, we do not offer support with medication, meal preparation, personal care, or financial matters with this service
If you or your loved one require more comprehensive support, we encourage you to explore Right at Home's comprehensive paid-for care services.
Who Can Benefit
Our Befriending Service is designed for elderly individuals residing in their own homes. Referrals can come from the individuals themselves, their friends and family, or healthcare professionals.
Who We Cannot Support
Our volunteers are not equipped to provide support for individuals with mental illness or mental health conditions, drug or alcohol dependencies, or those in need of counselling.
Additionally, we are unable to visit homes where smoking is allowed.
However, depending on the level of dementia symptoms, we can offer support to individuals living with dementia.
