May Newsletter: Community, Care, and Connection: Our May Update
A Month of Action and Celebration at Right at Home Central Wiltshire
Published: 14/05/2026
Welcome to our May newsletter! This month, we are focusing on mental wellbeing, celebrating our incredible team, and sharing highlights from our recent events across Chippenham, Devizes, and Trowbridge.
Mental Health Awareness: Take Action & Move in 15
May is National Walking Month, and from 11–17 May, we are supporting Mental Health Awareness Week. This year’s theme, “Take Action,” encourages us all to find small ways to improve our wellbeing.
We are championing the “Move in 15 Challenge.” Research shows that just 15 minutes of movement a day can boost your mood and energy. We’re encouraging our clients and team to aim for a short daily stroll to enjoy the fresh air and stay active.
- Wear It Green Day: On Thursday, 14 May, our team will be wearing green to show our support for mental health awareness. We’d love for you to join us by wearing your favourite green accessory!
Community Highlights: Bingo and Beyond
April was a busy month for our volunteers! We had a wonderful time bringing laughter and connection to the community with Bingo sessions at:
- Chippenham Day Centre
- Shackleton Place, Devizes
- Movement for Parkinson’s, Pewsham
It was heartening to see so many local residents joining us to share a story and a smile. These events are a vital part of our mission to reduce loneliness and keep our community connected.
Safety First: Workshops & Career Fairs
We’ve been out and about sharing knowledge and inspiring new talent:
- Health Workshops: We hosted sessions at Monkton Park Golf Course and Raleigh Court, demonstrating CPR and discussing falls prevention to help our neighbours stay safe and independent at home.
- Future Talent in Care: We visited the Wiltshire College Lacock campus for their Career Fair, meeting students and sharing the rewarding opportunities available within the care industry.
Celebrating Our Remarkable Team
Our people are the heart of what we do. This month, we are proud to announce:
- Quarterly Award Winners: Congratulations to our three outstanding carers for their exceptional dedication this quarter!
- A Warm Welcome: We’re thrilled to welcome our newest recruits. After completing their intensive training and shadowing, they are now out in the community making an impressive start.
