5 Places to enjoy the warm weather in our local area

With the warm weather having well and truly arrived, we wanted to share some of our favourite local places to enjoy the sun and get some fresh air!

 

1. Bowood House and Gardens

There is truly something for everybody at Bowood House and Gardens, with a Pirate Ship climbing frame and slides for the kids, beautiful gardens and waterfalls to walk around and enjoy, and a cafe for those of us who like to take things at a slower pace. 

 

2. John Coles Park

John Coles Park is located in the centre of Chippenham, making it easily accessible from most local areas. Is has a lovely open space to sit and relax in, and there is also a live band every Sunday from 1st May 3pm-5pm.

 

3. Westonbirt Arboretum 

Westonbirt is definitely worth a visit for nature lovers! With over 2,500 different species from around the globe and 5 national tree collections, Westonbirt is a great day out for the whole family. You can take a journey up into the canopy on the Tree Top Walkway, stop by the café for a tasty treat or see if you can spot the Gruffalo!

 

4. Monkton Park

For those who thrive on a bit of healthy competition, Monkton Park in Chippenham has a variety of golfing activities, including pitch and putt, foot golf, and crazy golf! After a round of golf you can sit in the sun with a refreshing drink from the tea rooms.

 

5. Salisbury Cathedral 

It wouldn't be a list of things to do in the area without a mention of Salisbury Cathedral. If architecture is more your cup of tea, a trip to the Cathedral should be at the top of your list. With Britain’s tallest spire, largest cloisters, and biggest Cathedral Close, as well as an original 1215 Magna Carta, there is plenty to see!
