Prioritising Wellbeing: A Powerful Afternoon for Our Care Team During Mental Health Awareness Week

Published: 15/05/2025

At Right at Home Chippenham, we believe that exceptional care starts with a strong foundation of self-care and support. In honour of Mental Health Awareness Week 2025, we were proud to host a Mental Health Awareness Workshop in partnership with The Enterprise Network (TEN), Wiltshire Council - an inspiring afternoon dedicated entirely to the wellbeing of our CareGivers.

A heartfelt thank you to Helen, Hannah, and Valerie for delivering such a powerful and impactful session. Your insights and support made a real difference.

Creating Space to Reflect and Recharge

The workshop provided our team with an opportunity to pause and prioritise their own wellbeing. Care work is incredibly rewarding, but it also comes with emotional and physical demands. That’s why taking time to reflect, connect, and recharge is so vital.

From the moment the event began, there was a sense of community and openness in the room. It was a safe, supportive space where our CareGivers could step away from their busy routines and truly focus on themselves.

Learning the Tools to Thrive

One of the core focuses of the workshop was stress management - a key issue in the care profession. Through interactive sessions and guided discussions, our CareGivers explored practical techniques for managing day-to-day pressures, setting healthy boundaries, and recognising early signs of burnout.

We also delved into the 5 Ways to Wellbeing - a framework developed by the New Economics Foundation to support long-term mental and emotional health. The five ways - Connect, Be Active, Take Notice, Keep Learning, and Give - offered simple yet powerful reminders of how to build resilience and nurture wellbeing in small, everyday actions.

Personalised Guidance from Health Coaches

One of the highlights of the afternoon was the opportunity for one-on-one conversations with professional Health Coaches from Wiltshire Council. These personalised sessions gave our team members the chance to ask questions, seek advice, and create their own action plans for improving mental and physical health.

From goal setting to managing sleep, diet, and emotional health, these tailored conversations provided meaningful support. Many of our team left feeling both lighter and more motivated.

Celebrating Our Incredible Team

As always, we are inspired by the compassion, commitment, and strength of our CareGivers. You are the heart of everything we do, and we are incredibly grateful for the work you do each day to support our clients and their families.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, and every week, we want to remind our team that your wellbeing matters. You give so much to others. It’s only right that we support you just as fully.

Keeping the Conversation Going

Mental health is not a one-week focus. It’s a long-term commitment. We are dedicated to continuing these conversations and building a workplace culture where support, understanding, and wellbeing are always front and centre.

Thank you to everyone who attended the workshop and made it such a positive, energising event. And special thanks to Wiltshire Council for their continued partnership and dedication to our community.

Together, we are creating a care environment where both Clients and CareGivers can thrive.
