Here’s what’s been happening this September:
What Does a Care Coordinator’s Day Really Look Like?
In the homecare world, Care Coordinators are the unsung heroes who keep everything running smoothly. At Right at Home Chippenham, our amazing Care Coordinators – Amy Smith and Charlotte Shaw – are at the heart of this vital work.
Their day starts bright and early with a morning briefing alongside the management team and on-call staff. Together, they review any overnight updates, ensuring both clients and Care Assistants are safe and supported.
Next comes the meticulous review of the rota – every visit, every carer, every client. It’s all about making sure every appointment is covered and runs on time. But in homecare, change is constant. If someone calls in sick or a client needs urgent help, Amy and Charlotte spring into action, reorganising schedules to keep everything on track.
And their role doesn’t stop there. They manage rota issues, spot checks, support and supervise Care Assistants, report feedback to management, and even step in to provide care when needed. That’s true commitment!
As Amy says:
“It can be stressful at times, but knowing we make a difference every single day is what makes this job so rewarding.”
September Challenge: Strong Hands, Stronger Days!
Following the success of August’s Seated Leg Raises Challenge, September brings a new focus: Hand & Grip Strengthening!
🎯 Goal: 10-15 hand and grip exercises, 2-3 times daily
🌟 Benefits:
✅ Stronger hands and forearms
✅ Easier daily tasks like opening jars and carrying shopping
✅ Better coordination and independence
A huge thank you to our Care Assistants for encouraging clients every step of the way. Together, we’re building strength and confidence – one small step at a time!
Afternoon Tea in Support of Breast Cancer Now
On 13th August, we hosted a wonderful Afternoon Tea at our office, led by the amazing Hannah Reseigh-Lincoln, in support of Breast Cancer Now.
It was an afternoon of delicious treats, laughter, and great company – all for an incredible cause. For clients who couldn’t attend, we delivered tea sets so they could join from home.
Thanks to your generosity (and matched donations from us), we raised over £300 to help fund vital research and support. Every cuppa shared brings us closer to a future free from breast cancer.
Community Connections: Festivals & Fundraising
We’ve been out and about this month, spreading awareness and supporting great causes!
✔ Melksham Food & River Festival – We had a fantastic weekend meeting new faces, sharing homecare advice, and raising funds for Melksham Foodbank with our lucky dip. Huge thanks to everyone who stopped by!
✔ Summer at Base with Wiltshire Air Ambulance – A sunny day filled with community spirit! We loved chatting about homecare services, funding options, and career opportunities while raising funds for this life-saving charity.
