Step by Step: Celebrating Strength and Progress in April

Looking ahead to a powerful May!

Published: 08/05/2025

Throughout April, our incredible clients at Right at Home Chippenham took on the Step-Up Challenge with enthusiasm and determination. The challenge, designed to gently strengthen the legs and improve balance, involved stepping up and down from a small, stable step 10–15 times, two to three times a day. While simple, this daily movement had a big impact, enhancing lower body strength, increasing stability, and supporting vital everyday tasks like walking and standing.

We are so proud to celebrate the dedication our Clients showed. Some participated every single day, embracing each step as a way to stay strong, independent, and active. A massive thank you goes to our compassionate CareGivers, who motivated and guided clients with patience and encouragement every step of the way.

Now, as we move into May, we’re shifting our focus to a new challenge: Chair Squats with Support. This activity is another fantastic way to build leg strength and support mobility—especially helpful for tasks like standing up from a seated position or getting in and out of chairs more easily.

May Challenge: Chair Squats (with Support)

  • Goal: Perform 5–10 seated squats, 2–3 times per day.
  • Objective: Strengthen leg muscles to support walking and standing.
  • Impact: Improved independence, reduced risk of falls, and greater ease with daily movement.
  • Safety Tip: Always use a sturdy chair for support. Keep feet flat on the ground, and don’t hesitate to pause and rest when needed.

Every small action we take to stay active adds up to a stronger, healthier future. Whether it’s one step or one squat at a time, what matters most is the commitment to keep going.

To all our clients: Your progress inspires us. Keep up the amazing effort - you’re doing something truly positive for your health and wellbeing. Let’s continue stepping forward together into May with strength, confidence, and the knowledge that every movement matters.

You've got this!
