Stronger Every Month: July Steps & August Leg Raises!
Keeping Active, Connected, and Confident – Every Month Counts
Published: 04/08/2025
At Right at Home Chippenham, we’re proud to keep movement and motivation at the heart of our care. Every month, our clients and carers come together to take on a simple but powerful Exercise Challenge, and July’s Outdoor Walking Challenge was a true breath of fresh air!
Throughout July, we encouraged clients to walk outside for 5-10 minutes once or twice a day, when safe to do so. Whether it was a gentle stroll in the garden, a lap down the road, or sitting outside for some sunshine and fresh air, the focus was on movement, independence, and a sense of freedom.
The response was fantastic. We saw many of our clients stepping outside with confidence, supported by our amazing Care Assistants who turned each outing into a positive, shared experience. These small walks brought more than just physical benefits. They lifted moods, sparked conversations, and reminded us all of the joy in life’s simplest moments. A big thank you to everyone who took part and helped bring a little more movement and sunshine into each day!
As we move into August, we’re turning our focus to building strength and mobility with this month’s challenge: Seated Leg Raises.
Here’s the challenge
- Aim for 10-15 leg raises, 2-3 times a day
- Great for strengthening the legs, improving mobility, and reducing stiffness
It’s a small, seated movement that can make a big difference in daily confidence and circulation, and is suitable for many of our clients when completed safely. As always, care assistants are encouraged to gently support and motivate clients to give it a go if appropriate.
