Stronger Every Month: June Shoulders & July Steps!

At Right at Home Chippenham, we’re passionate about helping our clients stay active, mobile, and confident - one small movement at a time. Our monthly Exercise Challenge continues to grow stronger, and June was no exception!

 

Throughout June, our focus was on shoulder mobility, a simple yet powerful way to support posture, reduce stiffness, and maintain upper body flexibility. Clients were encouraged to lift their arms up and down 10-15 times, twice a day. This gentle daily movement helps ease shoulder tension, encourages relaxation in the upper body, and can even make daily tasks feel a little easier.

 

What made the challenge even more special was the incredible teamwork between our Clients and Carers. With warm encouragement and shared motivation, our carers joined in the exercises, turning what might have been a small routine into a moment of connection, support, and shared achievement. A huge thank you to everyone who participated –  we saw great consistency and smiles all around!

 

Now that we’ve stretched and strengthened in June, July brings a breath of fresh air with our Outdoor Walking Challenge! With the summer sunshine in full swing, it’s the perfect time to get moving outdoors.

 

This month’s goal is simple and refreshing:

 

🚶‍♀️ Walk outside for 5–10 minutes, once or twice a day (if safe to do so).

 

Whether it’s a gentle stroll in the garden, a short walk down the road, or a breath of fresh air on a favourite bench, every step counts. The benefits are many – improved heart health, better endurance, boosted mood, and of course, the joy of soaking up some vitamin D.

 

As always, safety comes first. Please make sure walking paths are flat and clear of hazards, avoid busy or uneven areas, and take breaks if needed. A short, safe walk can go a long way in boosting well-being.

 

We’re so proud of how far we’ve come – and even more excited for the steps ahead. Let’s keep moving, keep smiling, and stay stronger every month!
