Summer at Base: A Meaningful Day Out with Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance

A Joyful Community Celebration for a Lifesaving Cause

Published: 18/08/2025

On Saturday 16th August, families, supporters, and community partners came together for Summer at Base, a vibrant outdoor event hosted by Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance at their airbase in Outmarsh, Semington.

This special day not only brought people of all ages together for fun and learning, but also marked the 35th anniversary of the charity’s lifesaving service across Wiltshire and surrounding areas.

A Fun-Filled Afternoon with a Purpose

The afternoon was packed with activities for all ages – from children’s games and demonstrations to meeting the Air Ambulance team and seeing the helicopter up close. It was a heartwarming reminder of the power of community and the vital role Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance plays in providing emergency critical care.

All donations raised during the event will go directly to the charity, helping them continue their essential work and stay operational 365 days a year.

Right at Home Chippenham Joined the Celebration

The Right at Home Chippenham team was proud to be part of the day, connecting with local residents and families to share helpful information about homecare services and careers in care.

At our stand, visitors learned about:

  • How homecare works and funding options available
  • The different types of personalised care we provide
  • Exciting and flexible career opportunities in the care sector

Many guests also tried their luck at our Lucky Dip, walking away with cheerful prizes and big smiles!

Community Spirit and Lifesaving Impact

Summer at Base was more than a fun day out – it was a meaningful celebration of 35 years of dedication, service, and community support. The event reflected the spirit of Wiltshire: caring, connected, and committed to making a difference.

We were honoured to take part in such a memorable occasion and to support a cause that saves lives every day.
