How Do You Ensure Your Carers Are Giving Good Service to Clients?
Myth: “Having someone new help at home feels uncertain.”
Published: 21/05/2025
We completely understand — letting someone new into your home or trusting them with your loved one is not an easy decision. It’s natural to wonder: How do I know the CareGivers are providing the right care?
At Right at Home Chippenham, we hope to answer your concerns clearly and show you exactly how we work to maintain outstanding care standards.
Our Community to Quality Care
At Right at Home Chippenham, delivering exceptional home care is about more than just providing support. It’s about building trust, showing compassion, and upholding the highest quality standards. Ensuring that every CareGiver upholds these values is at the very heart of what we do. So, how do we make sure our carers consistently deliver outstanding service?
Our Quality Assurance Journey
Rigorous Background Checks and Recruitment
Quality care starts before a CareGiver even meets their first client.
Every applicant undergoes:
• Full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) checks
• Detailed employment history verification
• In-depth interviews assessing values and character
• Reference checks to confirm suitability for a caring role
We only select individuals who embody kindness, reliability, and professionalism.
Comprehensive Two-Week Induction and Training
Once recruited, CareGivers complete an in-depth two-week induction. During this time, they:
ü Learn how to support a client with medication, personal care, home help, outings & more, while keeping both the Client & themselves safe.
ü Get a solid understanding of Adult Safeguarding, how to report incidents/accidents correctly, how to communicate relevant information in a timely manner with office supervisors to promote the best outcomes for clients.
ü How to risk assess clients homes & the support they are about to deliver, to minimise risk of incidents such as falls.
ü Learn about our company’s high standards and expectations.
Get to know the clients they will be supporting, understanding their routines and preferences.
ü Work under supervision until they are signed off as fully competent.
This prepares our CareGivers to confidently deliver safe, high-quality care.
Community-Based, Random Spot Checks
We don’t just rely on training — we actively maintain standards with:
· Regular, unannounced spot checks
· Observations of real-time care delivery
· Immediate feedback and additional support if needed
This ensures consistency and allows us to address any concerns proactively.
Regular Wellbeing Calls and Client Feedback
Client experience is central to everything we do, so we routinely:
📞 Conduct wellbeing calls to check on their experience
📋 Complete quarterly Quality Reviews, often involving family for a holistic view
💬 Encourage open communication for feedback or concerns
📋 Carry out Client Surveys via WorkBuzz to gather deeper insights into their satisfaction levels.
Your feedback shapes how we continually improve.
Ongoing Training and Support for CareGiver
Training doesn’t stop after induction — it’s only the beginning:
· Continuous professional development opportunities (e.g., NVQs, Clinical Care courses, Train the Trainer)
· Regular workshops and refresher sessions
· Emotional and professional support to ensure CareGivers stay motivated, skilled, and valued
This ongoing investment strengthens the care we provide every single day.
