Frequently Asked Questions
Do you offer care after hospital discharge or surgery?
Yes. We support Clients returning home from Ninewells Hospital, Royal Victoria Hospital (Dundee), Arbroath Infirmary, Stracathro Hospital, St Andrews Community Hospital and Victoria Hospital (Kirkcaldy), as well as local private facilities. We help with mobility, medication and everyday support during recovery, working with your healthcare team to ensure a seamless transition.
Who is homecare for?
Anyone who needs extra support to stay safe and well at home. That includes older adults, people with long-term conditions, or those recovering after illness or injury.
Local Authority-Financed Personal Care:
Costs vary depending on your needs and the level of support required. We’ll work with you to create a plan that fits your circumstances and budget. You are also eligible for support from Dundee City Council, Angus Council or Fife Council.
Here are your funding options with Right at Home Dundee:
Local-Authority-Financed Personal Care:
In Scotland, personal care is free to those assessed as needing it, and this forms the foundation of our service at Right at Home Dundee. This local authority-funded care allows us to provide essential services to many in the community. The packages typically range from one visit per day to up to four visits daily, seven days a week, from our compassionate and skilled Carers.
We are registered with Dundee City, Angus, and Fife Councils, which means Clients can select us as their care provider while the funding is managed by the council. Our personal care services include washing, dressing, toileting, oral care, makeup, nutrition, and mobility support. While most Clients choose to stick with local authority-funded care, we offer the option to add private care hours to enhance the quality and time spent with our Carers.
Clients are also supported in navigating their funding options through Scotland's Self-Directed Support regulations, ensuring they receive the best possible care suited to their needs.
Private Companionship and Social Support:
In addition to local authority care, we provide privately funded companionship and social support packages. These services allow us to focus on the emotional and social needs of Clients, allowing us to provide consistent care throughout the day. Our vetted and highly trained Carers can step in to deliver personal care as Clients’ needs evolve.
When is the right time to organise care?
Often, the best time is before things become urgent. If you or a loved one is struggling with daily tasks, it’s worth having a conversation now. We can help you plan early for better outcomes later.
