Care Assistant - Autism Experience


Right at Home Dundee, Angus and North Fife is a friendly, locally-owned homecare services provider. We are looking for friendly and reliable care assistants, with experience of Autism, to join our team and provide support in the community for young adults with autism.

Ideally, you already have the skills and knowledge you need to make a great Care Assistant, but we can offer you the training you need to perfect your skills and to take the next step in your career.

Requirements of a Care Assistant:

  • Full and valid UK or EU/EEA driving licence and access to own vehicle (essential)
  • Current right to work in the UK
  • Commitment to attending an initial 2 day training course
  • Applicants must be members or willing to become members of the Disclosure Scotland Protection of Vulnerable Groups scheme prior to commencing in post.
  • Experience of working with a variety of people living with autism or/and learning disabilities
  • Have a genuine passion to want to help others
  • Be a reliable team player with a positive attitude

Duties will include:

  • Motivating Clients to make the most out of their day
  • Practical and Emotional Support
  • Supporting Clients with daily living skills
  • Assisting some Clients with their personal care
  • Enabling Clients to access their local community for a variety of activities
  • Support with attending educational establishments and classes
  • Encouragement to maintain relationships and form new ones
