I’ve lived in East Lancashire all my life and I am currently a member of Wilpshire Parish Council.
At Right at Home East Lancashire and Ribble Valley we support anyone over 18 and as well as being a member of several local forums campaigning for improved quality of life for older people, I’m also a member of Blackburn with Darwen Learning Disabilities Partnership Board.
I’m an active fundraiser for charities including the Alzheimer’s Society and through my role as the Secretary of Whalley Chamber of Trade, I’ve built good relationships with other organisations in the local community. I am a keen supporter of Ribble Valley Seniors and Hyndburn Over 50s, who actively campaign on issues relating to older people.
It can be overwhelming to decide on the best thing to do when someone close to us needs care. I know this from personal experience, having seen a good friend struggle to find good care for her husband when he became ill – this was my initial motivation to get involved in care work myself. We all want the best for our families and it is important to me that our clients have the reassurance of knowing that my team and I provide a top quality service.
