A Blooming Brilliant Afternoon at Our Big Green Picnic
Sunshine, Smiles and Shared Memories for Dementia Adventure

We recently hosted our Big Green Picnic at The Point in Eastleigh, making the most of the lovely garden stage area.
With the summer sunshine shining brightly, we set up in the shade and enjoyed a fantastic afternoon filled with good food, fun activities, and great company.
Clients, carers, and even some of our carers' children came along to join in the celebrations. Everyone enjoyed a delicious picnic with sandwiches, tasty treats, and refreshing cloudy lemonade, creating the perfect summer atmosphere.

We organised a variety of interactive activities to encourage conversation and reminiscence.
Guests took part in a "Guess the Candle Scent" challenge and a "Guess the Flying Wildlife" picture quiz, which sparked wonderful discussions about nature, local wildlife, and fond memories of spending time outdoors.
Sensory boxes filled with different natural textures and objects gave everyone the opportunity to explore through touch, while the children had lots of fun playing games around the picnic table, including a tower balance game that brought plenty of laughter.
The afternoon was a wonderful opportunity for people of all ages to come together, enjoy the fresh air, and spend quality time with one another. Seeing clients, carers, families, and children sharing stories, laughter, and making new memories highlighted exactly what our community is all about.
