Supporting Hospital-to-Home Care

At Right at Home Salisbury & Andover, we believe that everyone deserves to recover, live and thrive in the comfort of their own home, regardless of the complexity of their care needs.

We're proud to announce another significant milestone in expanding our specialist healthcare capabilities. Our Registered Manager, Debby Sheldon, and Director, Dr. Courtney Hillman, recently visited the Ear, Neck and Throat Unit at University Hospital Southampton to meet our newest Client and complete specialist Train the Trainer qualifications in tracheostomy care, delivered by the hospital's Clinical Lead.

This achievement, along with our ability to support catheter and stoma care, further strengthens our ability to safely support individuals with complex care needs as they transition from hospital back to their own homes.

Safe Hospital to Home Discharge

Leaving hospital after major surgery or a significant illness can be one of the most daunting stages of recovery, particularly for individuals requiring specialist airway management.

However, with the right support and a highly trained care team, many people can safely return to the place they feel happiest - home.

Whether you're leaving Salisbury District Hospital or Southampton General Hospital, our growing delegated healthcare service is designed to bridge the gap between hospital to home, ensuring Clients receive expert support whilst maintaining their independence and quality of life.

Investing in Clinical Excellence

Receiving our Train the Trainer qualification directly from the Clinical Lead at the hospital means our expertise doesn't stop with two members of the team.

Debby and Courtney can now deliver this specialist training throughout Right at Home Salisbury & Andover, ensuring our wider care team develops the knowledge, confidence and practical skills required to safely support Clients living with a tracheostomy.

This investment in education allows us to continually raise the standard of care we provide and ensures our Carers are equipped with up-to-date best practice.

It also means families can have confidence knowing their loved one is being supported by a team committed to ongoing learning and excellence.

“Hospital discharge doesn't have to mean uncertainty. By investing in specialist delegated healthcare training, we're able to give individuals and their families confidence that complex care can be delivered safely, compassionately and professionally at home. Working alongside the incredible hospital clinical teams ensures continuity of care from hospital to home, allowing more people to recover in familiar surroundings whilst maintaining their independence.”
