At Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin we have an exceptional team of women at all levels and positions across our business. Today as well as every other day of the year, we celebrate the women who work tirelessly to provide incredible care to or Clients.

This International Women’s Day, we’d like to take a moment to acknowledge the women making a difference in Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin.

This years’ International Women’s Day is focused on a world free of bias, stereotypes, and discrimination. Women are at the forefront of the care industry. Adult social care workforce data from Skills for Care shows that 82% of care workers are women. However, in senior management roles across care, the proportion of women decreases to 68%. We firmly believe in the importance of placing women in all positions throughout the business: from CareGivers to Registered Managers. We strive to be a business free from bias; we recognise hard work and give recognition where it is due.

For Right at Home this means we are committed to listening to our team, ensuring that we create a work environment that offers inclusivity, equality, and opportunities to progress in your career. We are always learning, continuing to grow as a business, and encouraging everyone at Right at Home Stevenage Letchworth and Hitchin to contribute to ideas that support our development. Together we can all #BreakTheBias.

The women in homecare that make us who we are

Every member of our team is a valued member whether male or female. We have so many team members and stories and to celebrate throughout the business, but let’s start with one from our Registered Manager.

From the Right at Home National Office to our network of local offices, you’ll find women in senior management positions throughout the Right at Home network. In fact, all the current registered Managers (RMs) at Right at Home are female!

Our Registered Manager, Tracey Wastell, has recently joined us and adds her vast experience in the Care Industry to our team. She is also highly involved in her local church and is an appointed officiant!

Registered Managers are vital to the core functioning of both the office and care teams, as they hold a wide range of important responsibilities, such as managing the care team, handling compliance and risk assessments and providing support for training and development, to name a few.

Next, we’d love to introduce our newly appointed Care-Coordinator, Natalie Walker. Natalie began her career in care with Right at Home Stevenage, Letchworth and Hitchin from opening, and her exemplary hard work and dedication to her clients soon made her the ideal candidate for the step up into co-ordinating.

“We are a team of exceptionally amazing carers. Woking with the other girls is great, and we are all supportive of each other.”
