We have been rated Outstanding by the Care Quality Commission!

Right at Home Sutton and Epsom has been rated ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) for the homecare services it provides across Epsom, Banstead, Sutton and surrounding areas.

The agency, based in Epsom, received ‘Outstanding’ in three areas of their inspection: Caring, Responsive and Well-led. This is a rare achievement for homecare providers, which must achieve Outstanding in only two areas to be rated overall Outstanding. The triple rating places Right at Home Sutton and Epsom in the top 1% of homecare providers in England.

Inspectors from the independent regulator of health and social care visited Right at Home in November to assess five key areas and looked in depth at whether the service was Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive and Well-led.

The inspectors spoke to people who receive care from Right at Home, interviewed staff and reviewed a wide range of documents and practices.

In their report published this month, the agency was applauded for its exceptionally high standards of care.

The report said: “People were truly respected and valued as individuals and empowered as partners in their care in an exceptional service. Staff showed a genuine fondness for the people they cared for and were dedicated and committed to supporting them and their families to achieve the very best outcomes possible”. 

Speaking about the CQC report, Right at Home’s Managing Director Tim Haigh said: “I cannot describe how proud I feel of the Right at Home team during what has been the hardest two years social care has ever seen. Their achievement is testament to how hard the team works and how much they care for each and every one of our clients. The special relationship our caregivers have with their clients and the effort they make to ensure everybody is treated as an individual really shone through in the inspectors’ findings.”

Local MP Chris Grayling visited Right at Home offices this week to offer his congratulations. He told staff: “I know it has been a very difficult time and you have all done immensely well to achieve this.”

The Oustanding rating caps a year which also saw Right at Home Sutton and Epsom awarded Workbuzz 5 Star Employer Status and celebrate a decade of supporting vulnerable elderly adults across the region.
