• The ducks at Church End: The pond, the green, the war memorial and St Mary's behind it — for a great many Clients this is the walk, and has been for years. It's short, it's level, there are benches, and there is almost always someone to stop and talk to. When confidence outdoors starts to go, this is usually the first thing worth protecting.
• A stretch of the Wychert Way: The waymarked routes out towards Cuddington, Chearsley and Dinton come in useful lengths, which makes them unusually well suited to Clients who want a proper walk but need to know exactly how far they're committing to. We'll go as far as feels right on the day and turn back without ceremony.
• A morning in Banks Park: Open space close to home, a bench in the sun and no particular agenda. Sometimes the whole point of an outing is that it doesn't require anything of you.
• Coffee and the shops on the High Street: Picking up a loaf, collecting a prescription, sitting outside somewhere with a cup of something. The everyday errands are usually the first casualties when driving stops — and among the easiest for us to keep going.
• Haddenham Museum: A short visit with a lot of recognition in it, particularly for Clients who grew up locally or married into the village. Worth building into an afternoon when family are visiting and everyone would rather do something out of the house.
• Church, clubs and the community centre: Services, lunch clubs, the library, whatever social has run for years on the same afternoon. We'd far rather rearrange a visit around one of these than watch someone miss out on those social groups and gatherings that have brought them joy for years.
• Family lunches, birthdays and the grandchildren Less an outing than the reason for most of them. Sometimes we're helping someone get ready; sometimes we're there so that a visiting daughter gets to be a daughter for the afternoon rather than the person doing the lifting.
