A fair amount of what our Carers do involves keeping the rest of Thame reachable — driving when driving is needed, walking alongside when it isn't, and sometimes simply making sure someone is ready to go while the morning is still fine.

• Tuesday market: The fixture the week is built around for a great many Clients. Stalls, familiar faces, a reason to be out. We plan visits around Tuesday mornings rather than expecting Tuesday to fit around us.
• The Phoenix Trail: Genuinely one of the better options locally for Clients whose mobility isn't what it was. It's flat, well-surfaced and usable in most weather, with benches and sculptures along the way that make natural turning points. You can do a few hundred yards or a couple of miles and it works either way — which matters when someone wants a walk but needs to know exactly what they're committing to.
• Cuttle Brook Nature Reserve: A great chance to see proper birdlife and a network of paths to choose between. A good change of scene for Clients who want countryside without a car journey to reach it.
• A wander along the High Street: Butchers, bakers, the independents, and somewhere to sit down with a coffee at the end of it. Errands are usually the first casualty when driving stops, and among the simplest things for us to keep going.
• Thame Museum or a show at the Players Theatre: Worth having in mind for afternoons when family are visiting and everyone would rather do something than sit in the front room making conversation.
• Elms Park on a decent day: Open space, a bench, no particular agenda. Some outings are valuable precisely because nothing is being asked of anybody.
• The Thame Show and the town's events calendar: The one-day agricultural show in September, craft fairs at the Town Hall, the summer festivals — annual fixtures that people have gone to for forty years and have no intention of missing now.
• Clubs, church and the standing Thursday whatever-it-is: The regular commitments that hold a week in shape. We're here to support you to maintain those connections with your preferred social gatherings.

Yes, properly and regularly. Thame is around ten miles from our office and well within our operating area, and we have Carers living locally. Being on the Oxfordshire side of the county boundary makes no difference to whether we can support you.

Yes, and it's one of the more valuable times to have us involved. We support Clients home from the John Radcliffe and the Churchill in Oxford, and from Stoke Mandeville Hospital in Aylesbury, helping with mobility, medication, personal care and getting settled. We'll work alongside your discharge team and district nurses so that nothing is left uncovered.
