Hi, I’m Stu, and I’m a Senior Carer at Right at Home Cheshire East. I officially joined the organisation in February 2025, but I’ve been working in senior care roles for over four years now, and I can honestly say it’s the most fulfilling job I’ve ever had.

Care work isn’t just about meeting someone’s basic needs; it’s about helping people live with dignity, purpose, and independence. That’s what drives me every single day. Supporting our Clients to remain in the comfort of their own homes, especially across Stockport East, is more than just a service; it’s a responsibility I take great pride in.

One of my specialist skills is complex care, which means I often work with Clients who have more advanced or specific health needs. I thrive in those situations. I love being able to provide not only practical care but emotional support too, for both the Client and their families. Sometimes, just being a calm and reliable presence can make all the difference.

This job is incredibly rewarding. Whether I’m supporting someone through a challenging diagnosis, helping them with daily routines, or simply sharing a few moments of laughter, every day is meaningful. I also get to be part of an amazing team of CareGivers and support staff who genuinely care, we all go above and beyond for our Clients.

I live in Stockport myself, so providing home care in Stockport East feels very personal. These are my neighbours, my community, and I feel privileged to support them in living safely and happily in their own homes.

Outside of work, I’m a big fan of anything active. I enjoy long walks, swimming, and trying out new restaurants when I can. There’s something about relaxing with a good meal after a busy day that just hits the spot. I also share my home with two much-loved pets: Holly the dog and Bella the cat. They keep things interesting, to say the least!

And in case you’re wondering, if I were stuck on a desert island, I’d take… myself. Because why not? I like a challenge!

Being part of the Right at Home team has only strengthened my belief in the importance of personalised, compassionate care. It’s a team effort, and I’m proud to be someone families can count on. Whether it’s short-term support or complex, ongoing care, I’ll always do my best to be a steady hand, a kind face, and someone who really listens.
