Sara Stirrup
Learning and Development Manager
Sara Stirrup (Shotton) has worked in the education sector for over 25 years’, with extensive experience in both further and higher education Sara joins Right at Home as the Learning and Development Manager, bringing not only her knowledge and experience, but a passion for quality teaching and learning. Her original specialism is Sport and Exercise Science, which she taught at FE and HE levels, developing her ability to support a diverse range of learners to succeed. Sara has a first class hons degree in education, and is a qualified mentor and assessor.
Her growing interest in learner engagement and student motivation led her to complete a Master’s degree in Education (MEd) and her research was later published. In more recent years, Sara has worked in teacher education, delivering the PGCE in partnership with the University of Lancashire, achieving Senior Fellowship in Higher Education.
Sara’s educational interests focus on teaching pedagogy, learner engagement, and effective curriculum design. She is driven by a belief that learning happens when people are inspired and supported. Sara hopes her knowledge and experience will allow her to make an effective and positive contribution to the Right at Home organisation.
