An insight into the first steps of launching your business
In this month’s blog we’ll be taking a deep dive into our start-up support, to give you realistic insights and expectations as you pave the way to launch a new career.
A smooth transition from research to planning:
Our franchise evaluation process is overseen by Kate and Chrissie in our Network Development team. To ensure continuity, you’ll continue working closely with Kate – an Associate Director who has been with the business for 15 years - as you complete the evaluation process, commit to the network and move into planning your start-up in earnest.
Kate and her team guide our new franchisees through business planning and loan applications, plan their induction training, and onboard them into the Right at Home network and systems. We’ll also advise on exactly what you should be looking for, by way of local office premises.
You’ll be given access to a detailed task management tracker that covers all aspects of your start-up preparation, so you can follow a streamlined process and ensure that nothing slips through the net.
Together, we will map out your IT set up, oversee the delivery of your start-up package and introduce the various departments at National Office who will support in the early days. This means you can immediately start establishing good working relationships with the people whose expertise you will tap into, across different areas of the business.
The first introduction is to our in-house Recruitment team, who will share the process for attracting and hiring a Registered Manager who brings the required experience and – most importantly – the values and mindset needed to suit a Right at Home start up.
In most cases, our inhouse team save new franchisees having to pay recruitment agency fees.
We’ll then introduce a dedicated Quality & Compliance Manager – they will guide you step-by-step through the regulatory registration process; checking everything to ensure your application meets all the requirements. For English territories, they will also liaise if needed with our dedicated point of contact at the CQC, giving you the best possible chance of getting registered within the target 12 week timeframe.
Our Marketing team will support you to prepare printed materials; they will build your website, help you create great looking social media accounts, and educate you around our brand messaging and guidelines. You will have regular calls with the Marketing team, as you start building your new networks and honing your strategy for Client acquisition and care team recruitment.
Structured Peer Support groups mean you will also start getting to know other franchise owners who are also in their start-up or early years of trading – learning from their shared experiences; tapping into what’s worked well and taking note of what they might do differently!

Investing in your future success

- Offers of up to 75% lending from HSBC due to trusted performance and trading history
- Heavily reduced Advice & Support fees in your first year of trading
- Reduced rate of 5% VAT on franchise fees (ongoing)
