Nichola Smith

My name is Nikki, and I’m the Deputy Care Manager at Right at Home Hemel Hempstead. After many years in the corporate financial sector, I chose to pursue a more meaningful career in healthcare, inspired by the Covid-19 pandemic and caring for my mother-in-law until her passing in 2023.

My journey began by volunteering with St John Ambulance, training as a first aider and supporting community and national events, including the London Marathon. I later joined Right at Home as a Carer, where I discovered genuine fulfilment in supporting clients and families.

Keen to take on greater responsibility, I became Care Coordinator, focusing on planning and communication to ensure consistent high-quality care and uphold our people-centred values.

Now, as Deputy Care Manager, I’m proud to guide our dedicated team, providing the resources and encouragement they need to deliver compassionate, personalised care that respects each client’s dignity and independence.
