Deputy Care Manager

Location:        Bembridge Office

Salary:            £27 - £33k (depending on experience)

Hours:             37.5 hours per week + on-call availability

Main Duties and Responsibilities

 

Supporting the Registered Manager with:

·       Oversee and maintain the highest standards of care delivery to all clients.

·       Lead, supervise, and support a team of Care Assistants.

·       Conduct client assessments, develop person-centred care plans, and review them regularly.

·       Ensure compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards.

·       Monitor care delivery through regular spot checks, audits, and service reviews.

·       Create, maintain, and publish staff rosters using electronic rostering systems.

·       Manage short notice changes due to sickness, leave, or emergencies.

·       Coordinate with senior management to ensure adequate staffing levels.

·       Handle new care enquiries, referrals, and assessments professionally and promptly.

·       Recruit, onboard, and train new care staff in line with company procedures.

·       Deliver ongoing support and training to the care team to maintain best practices.

·       Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, and healthcare professionals.

·       Respond to and resolve client or staff complaints and concerns appropriately.

·       Provide regular reports to senior management on service performance, staffing, and risks.

·       Participate in on-call duties as required to support out-of-hours service needs. (including every other weekend with set days off in the week on these weeks)

·       Promote a positive team culture and always lead by example.

Qualifications and Experience

·       Hold, or be working towards, QCF Level 5 qualification in Social Care

·       In depth understanding of CQC assessment criteria for Good and Outstanding scores

·       Junior management experience of service provision in the care industry

·       Have at least 2 years’ experience in a coordinator role.
