Marketing & Community Events Coordinator
Marketing & Community Events Coordinator
Right at Home Isle of Wight | Bembridge
37.5 hours per week • Salary: £27k - £29k dependent on experience • Start date: to be agreed
Bring people together. Build stronger connections. Help more people enjoy life at home.
At Right at Home Isle of Wight, we believe great homecare is about more than practical support. We are proud to be part of island life: bringing people together, tackling isolation and helping people enjoy a life they love. Our community events are not simply promotional activities. They reflect our commitment to doing good locally, celebrating our Carers and supporting Clients and their families.
We are looking for an organised, creative and people-focused Community & Events Coordinator to build on our much-loved events, strengthen community partnerships and share the people, culture and values behind our care. You will also help turn trusted relationships and positive experiences into new Client enquiries and Carer referrals, supporting the sustainable growth of our local service.
Three events at the heart of the role
Independent Living Show
Lead the planning, budgeting and delivery of our annual show, now in its fifth year, bringing together more than 40 stallholders and helping local people explore ways to live independently for longer.
Dementia Afternoon Tea Club
Coordinate our established monthly Bembridge gathering, entering its sixth year, including accessible activities, entertainment, guest experience and community partnerships.
Operation Community Christmas
Organise our Christmas Day community celebration for people who may otherwise spend the day alone, including volunteers, a traditional meal, entertainment and gifts.
What you will do
• Own event plans, schedules, supplier and volunteer coordination, budgets, bookings and on-the-day delivery.
• Build trusted relationships with charities, community groups, local businesses and referral partners across the Isle of Wight.
• Represent Right at Home at community events, talks and local venues, helping people understand the value of quality homecare and how to access support.
• Work with the Franchise Owner and Registered Manager to align community activity with local priorities and organise Client and team events.
• Create engaging, on-brand event and marketing content for social media, local promotion and community communications, working with the Franchise Owner.
• Support recruitment marketing with authentic stories, materials and campaigns that showcase our team culture, values, Carer roles and the satisfaction of working at Right at Home.
• Capture Client and attendee feedback, team stories and event outcomes; share learning and identify opportunities to improve future activities.
• Take responsibility for appropriate event risk assessments, accessibility, safeguarding considerations and health and safety arrangements, escalating concerns when needed.
What success looks like
• Our flagship events remain welcoming, inclusive and safely delivered, with strong attendance, positive Client feedback and a clear contribution to community wellbeing.
• Community relationships generate relevant new Client enquiries and Carer referrals, with opportunities recorded and followed up appropriately alongside the wider team.
• Marketing activity builds local awareness, explains the value of homecare and Carer careers, and authentically reflects our culture, values and team satisfaction.
• Event plans, budgets and feedback are managed well, with clear reporting on participation, Client satisfaction, referrals and outcomes.
What you will bring
• Practical experience organising events, community engagement or local promotional activity, with evidence of seeing projects through and managing budgets effectively.
• Excellent organisation, attention to detail and the confidence to manage competing priorities independently.
• A natural ability to build relationships and communicate with people from different backgrounds.
• Confidence using Microsoft 365 and social media; experience with Canva or website content systems such as Umbraco is useful.
• A flexible, solutions-focused approach, including willingness to attend occasional evening and weekend events and the Christmas Day celebration.
• An understanding of homecare, dementia or disability inclusion is an advantage, but not essential.
Why join us?
This is a chance to be part of a team that genuinely cares about its island community. You will help people feel included and connected, celebrate the contribution of our Carers and make a visible difference to local life – while helping more Clients and future Carers discover Right at Home.
Interested?
We would love to hear how you would bring these events and partnerships to life.
