Big Green Picnic, raising Money for Dementia Adventure

A day to remember
Right at Home South Trafford and Wyncourt Nursing Home joined forces to help raise money for the charity Dementia Adventure by hosting a dementia-friendly picnic in Wyncourt's garden on 29 July 2026.
The day saw residents, their families and friends enjoying the sunshine while taking part in a variety of garden games, including bingo, Guess the Sweets and trying their luck on the tombola.
Throughout the event, we encouraged everyone to donate what they could, helping to raise as much money as possible for Dementia Adventure. Both Right at Home South Trafford and Wyncourt provided food and prizes for the event, including an array of delicious sandwiches and cakes.

Bringing Residents, Families and the Community Together
The day was a great success, giving staff, residents and their families the opportunity to spend quality time together and thoroughly enjoy themselves. Everyone had the chance to join in with the party games, play bingo and try their luck at winning a prize on the tombola.
Many of the residents were left beaming from ear to ear, and families commented on what a wonderful day it had been.
Several local businesses generously contributed prizes and food for the event, and we would like to personally thank them for helping to make the day extra special.
A huge thank you goes to Tina's Nail Studio in Timperly for donating a free manicure, Village Hair and Beauty Salon Timperly for providing a complimentary hair treatment voucher, and Mane Street Hairdressers for supplying complimentary shampoo and conditioner. These generous donations were awarded as prizes to the winners of the tombola and bingo.
We also received an incredibly generous cake donation from Just the Ticket Café, next to Timperly Metrolink station which was enjoyed by everyone attending the event.

Finally, we would like to extend our sincere thanks to Wyncourt Nursing Home, who went above and beyond by providing their beautiful garden, resources and a fantastic selection of food and homemade cakes, prepared by the chefs and kindly donated by residents' families.
We couldn't have held this wonderful event without their support, and we look forward to working together on many more exciting community events in the future.
