Craft exhibition reveals hidden talents in Sunbury-on-Thames

Hidden talents have been unveiled at Right at Home Twickenham & Richmond’s recent community craft exhibition.

Over 50 pieces of art went on display at the home care providers office in Sunbury-on-Thames which were admired by carers, clients and visiting members of the community.

Caregiver Sally organised the exhibition to showcase the artistic talents of some of the people she visits on a day-to-day basis.

One standout contributor was local resident Pauline who exhibited examples of her exquisite embroidery. Pauline was originally involved in the Sunbury Walled Garden Embroidery Gallery and describes how one of her proudest moments was meeting the Queen at the grand opening 25 years ago.

Right at Home’s Marketing and Recruitment Manager, Liz Young says: “The craft exhibition was such a lovely event. It brought people together and there was a real sense of connection as people talked about the work on show. There are some very creative people in our midst, and I am so pleased we were able to provide an opportunity for them to share their work and inspire others.”

As well as providing quality care, Right at Home is committed to enabling older people to stay active in their communities through its programme of events and social activities which include the Sunflower Café which is for people living with dementia.
