Right at Home Twickenham and Richmond celebrates local talent with community craft exhibition

Right at Home Twickenham and Richmond is holding a community craft exhibition to showcase the talents of its clients and caregivers. The exhibition is free to attend and is being held at Right at Home’s office in Sunbury-on-Thames from 2-4pm on Tuesday 27 May.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse range of works including fine art, painting, embroidery, quilting, clay craft, and crocheting.
The exhibition has been organised by Sally who is a caregiver at Right at Home. She was inspired to create the event after learning about the hidden talents of her colleagues and seeing first-hand the incredible range of crafting that often happens quietly behind closed doors in clients’ homes.
Sally says: “In my day-to-day role as a caregiver, I visit so many wonderful people who spend time creating beautiful things - whether it’s quilting, embroidery or painting. I thought the exhibition would be a great way to share some of this lovely work with the wider community.”
Sally has also seen the many benefits that craft brings to older people. She says: “Crafting offers so much more than just a pastime - it keeps the mind active, helps maintain dexterity, and gives people a real sense of achievement. It’s also a lovely way to ease loneliness and bring joy. I’m so proud to help highlight these amazing skills through the exhibition and hope to inspire others to take up a craft.”
The exhibition is at 95 Green Street, Sunbury-on-Thames, TW16 6RD. For more information about Right at Home, visit www.rightathome.co.uk/twickenham-and-richmond.
