Supporting Our Community: Health & Wellbeing Event and Upcoming Easter Activity
At Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District, supporting people goes beyond the care we provide at home. We’re passionate about helping people stay connected to their community and making it easier for residents and families to find the support available locally.
Health & Wellbeing Information Event
Earlier this month, we were pleased to co-organise a Health & Wellbeing Information Event in partnership with Healthwatch West Sussex at Southwick Community Centre.
The aim of the event was to bring together a range of local organisations in one place so that members of the community could learn more about the support and services available to them and their families.
A variety of organisations attended, including Age UK, Alzheimer’s Society, Carers Support West Sussex, Royal Voluntary Service, West Sussex Mind and Community Transport Sussex. Having these services together gave people the opportunity to speak directly with organisations that support health, wellbeing and independence across the local area.
Alongside the information stands, visitors were also able to access free health MOT checks and blood pressure checks, as well as try a Love to Move taster session, a gentle seated movement programme designed to support mobility, coordination and cognitive wellbeing.
Events like this are a great way to highlight the support available locally and strengthen connections between organisations working in the community.
Coming Up: Easter Cake Decorating Event
We’re now looking forward to our next community activity, a dementia-friendly Easter Cake Decorating session, taking place on 30th March at The Shoreham Centre.
Designed for people aged 65+ and those living with dementia, the session will provide a relaxed and enjoyable opportunity to get creative and spend time with others in the community.
The event will be led by Bake Off: The Professionals’ Sally Dells, who will guide participants through decorating their own Easter-themed cakes. The session is being delivered in partnership with Love to Move to help ensure it is accessible and welcoming for everyone attending.

At Right at Home Worthing & Shoreham District, we’re proud to work alongside local organisations to create opportunities that support wellbeing, social connection and independence in our community.
