Meet Shirley, one of our friendly and compassionate Carers

Shirley was encouraged to begin working in care by her best friend, but caring has long been an important part of her life. Having cared for her daughter, who has learning disabilities, Shirley knew that she still had so much support, kindness and compassion to give when her daughter left home. Moving into a career in care felt like the natural choice.

A true people person, Shirley brings plenty of warmth, humour and smiles to her work. She enjoys supporting clients across both Bournemouth and Poole and loves having the opportunity to brighten someone’s day.

Before entering care, Shirley worked in several customer-facing roles, including as a catering assistant, dinner lady and shop assistant. These experiences helped develop the friendly and approachable nature that she now brings to her role at Right at Home.

Outside of work, Shirley enjoys crosswords, singing, cooking, and arts and crafts. Her favourite local view is Poole Harbour—a lovely place to appreciate living by the sea.
