Hot Grills, Big Smiles And Togetherness- Summer BBQ

Summer is a wonderful time to connect with people and create memories. It provides an opportunity to take a break from our usual routines and spend time with family, friends and colleagues. At Right at Home, Bromley, we took the opportunity to celebrate the season with a Jamaican-style summer BBQ to bring our clients, carers, office team, and families together for an afternoon filled with food, fun and laughter.

We all gathered at the Victory Social Club, Kechill Gardens, Bromley at around 1 pm. Our clients and carers’ families joined in, making the event more special. The venue was filled with the aroma of delicious food, vibrant summer soundtracks and joyful chatter. The fun began as we swayed to the rhythm and sang along to our favourites.

We enjoyed a selection of games such as Bowling, Charades, Bingo, and ring toss. Piping hot Jamaican-style food was served, which included three different styles of flavorful chicken, rice, fried plantains, Jamaican coleslaw, desserts and much more. The team ensured that there were a variety of options suiting the preferences of our guests. One of our carers baked a delicious cake, and our office team brought in snacks and refreshments. It was lovely to see the kids of our team members grooving to the music and playing fun games. Our clients shared a few of their memories and stories, sang and danced with us. We captured a few of the memorable moments and left the venue with big smiles on everyone’s face.

Our summer BBQ party was more than just a meal. It brought the people we work with and the people we work for together, giving us all a sense of belonging. It was a wonderful chance for us to connect with each other and celebrate the work we do. Events like this help maintain social connections, support emotional wellbeing and reduce loneliness.

At Right at Home, Bromley, we believe that care is not just about supporting our clients at Home but building connections and helping them feel a part of our community. Our summer BBQ party served the purpose by bringing everyone together for a day full of music, dancing, games and delicious food.
