Joe Guishard

Joe Guishard is the Owner of Right at Home Cardiff and Newport, leading the organisation with a clear vision to deliver outstanding, person-centred care and build a values-driven team that consistently achieves excellence.

Born and raised in Cardiff, Joe is deeply passionate about giving back to his local community. Before founding the business, he served as a police officer for six years, developing a strong understanding of people, community needs, and the importance of trust and compassion.

Joe’s leadership and dedication to excellence have been widely recognised. He was awarded the Visionary Leadership Award at the Business Growth Awards Wales 2025, a testament to his commitment to innovation, growth, and high-quality care.

He has also been recognised as Entrepreneur Leader of the Year at the Social Care Leadership Awards 2025, highlighting his impact across the care sector and his commitment to building strong, people-focused services.

Under Joe’s leadership, Right at Home Cardiff & Newport has achieved multiple prestigious awards, including winning The 3 R’s Award (Recruitment, Retention & Recognition) at the Regional Great British Care Awards for the year 2024 and 2025 where Joe was praised for his passion and commitment to supporting and developing his team.

 The organisation has also received national recognition at the Right at Home annual awards, including Employer of the Year (>50 staff) and Multi-Territory Annual Sales Award in was 2023, 2024 & 2025, reflecting Joe’s ability to grow a high-performing, supportive, and successful care service.

Why did you get into care?

“I was inspired to pursue care through my own experiences supporting my grandparents. Seeing firsthand the difference that compassionate, reliable support can make made me realise how important quality care truly is.

I wanted to ensure that others could receive the same level of dignity, independence, and companionship. Establishing Right at Home Cardiff and Newport has allowed me to turn that vision into reality, creating a service that genuinely makes a difference to people’s lives every day.”
