Elizabeth Shaw

I've lived in the Medway Towns all my life, building a family and a career in care. I have three grown up boys, one Grandson, and family are very important to me.  I have two passions in life; working in Care, and Rugby.

I have worked in Care for 26 years in various environments, but community care is a good fit for me. I enjoy the work-life balance it gives me, and assisting people to live independently in their own homes is important to me.  I combine my CareGiver role with the role of Trainer at Right at Home Medway and find this a great balance.  When training, I enjoy sharing my passion, experience and knowledge for Care with our CareGivers.

I have gained my NVQ Level 2 in Health and Social Care and am halfway through my NVQ Level 3 in Management and Leadership.  In addition to my NVQ’s, I have gained my certificates in ‘Train the Trainer’ course that took me to our National office in Liverpool.  I enjoy working on my own professional development and encourage others to succeed!!

Rugby is my other passion.  Playing in the local ladies' team for 15 years, retiring from playing now, but still enjoy being involved.  I still enjoy volunteering in coaching girl's Rugby and managing mini/youth Rugby for my son's team, but now I'm a regular on the side-lines cheering my son on as he has developed into the first team. Very proud Mum moment!!!
