Senior CareGiver

Phyllidah has always had a passion for care and finds great fulfilment in supporting others. She began her career in her twenties, working in a residential home, where she developed a strong appreciation for the importance of providing compassionate, person-centred care to older people.

Her connection to dementia care is particularly personal. Having experienced dementia within her own family, Phyllidah understands first-hand the impact it can have on individuals and their loved ones. She took time away from her career to care for her family member until his passing, an experience that deepened her understanding of the patience, compassion, and reassurance that people living with dementia need.

Phyllidah joined Right at Home Oxford from Leicester in 2024 and has enjoyed being part of the team ever since. What stood out to her from the beginning was the warm welcome she received from the management team. She describes Right at Home Oxford as feeling warm and homely, with a genuine approach to care that puts both clients and CareGivers at heart.

As a Senior CareGiver, Phyllidah is passionate about continuing to develop her knowledge and skills within the care sector. She hopes to progress her career as far as possible and is committed to learning more so that she can carry out her responsibilities with confidence and excellence.

Phyllidah particularly enjoys getting to know people through conversation and believes that good communication and human connection are an important part of care. She loves chatting, reading, and watching comedy series, which she finds are a great way to relax, have a laugh, and unwind after a busy day.

Above all, Phyllidah values the people who make up the Right at Home Oxford community. She has a great appreciation for the staff, CareGivers, and clients and is proud to be part of a team that she describes as an outstanding place to work.
