Emma Pritchard

Recruitment and Training Coordinator

I started Right at Home March 2024 I worked as a caregiver from March 2024 until June 2025 when I had the opportunity to join the office team as Training and Recruitment Coordinator

In my spare time I spend quality time with my husband, little girl and 2 dogs.

My role is to recruit new carers, set standards and give them the knowledge and confidence to provide good quality care to our clients.

What do you look for in a CareGiver to ensure they deliver safe, high-quality care?

A friendly approachable person who shows a positive attitude. Someone who is compassionate and emphatic. Someone who shows a willingness to learn.

How does training prepare CareGivers for real-life situations?

We offer hands on training. I have worked my way up from being a carer so give real life scenarios for the trainee.

How do you tailor training to meet different learning styles or needs?

Plan a range of lessons and different teaching techniques as not all trainees will learn the same way.

How do you promote a caring and values-based culture from day one?

Clarify and inform new carers of right at home values and core expectations. We do our in-house training, and then new carers will do shadowing with long serving carers at the beginning of their journey with us. Frequently send out feedback forms to our carers to ensure they are happy within their jobs and to highlight any areas we can work on.
