Beach Barbecue for our clients

We had our first ever client barbecue on Thursday 10th July 2025 on Branksome Beach. We arranged the transport to and from as well as the food and the shelter from the blazing sun for ten of our clients. Pickups by our carers started at 3pm with the last client getting home to Christchurch at around 7.30pm. A busy and enjoyable day for all.
We even took advantage of the electric beach barbecues which worked an absolute treat and our client focussed event created a real buzz with other beachgoers who saw us cooking for so many of our lovely clients while they kept out of the sun under our orange gazebo.
Mobility challenges were taken care of with our Senior Coordinator and Moving and Handling Instructor Maria overseeing everyone's safe positioning on the soft sand. We even managed to get a few clients paddling in the sea which made it even more memorable.
