What is the Whzan Blue Box?
The Whzan Blue Box is a fully portable health monitoring system that is transforming home care. This compact, all-in-one kit allows our Carers to conduct comprehensive health assessments in your home, monitoring vital signs and identifying early signs of health deterioration without the need for hospital visits.
Inside the Blue Box
Our Whzan Blue Box contains professional-grade medical equipment, including:
- GSM-Enabled Tablet – An intuitive interface that guides our Care Assistants through the monitoring process and securely transmits data
- Bluetooth Thermometer – For accurate temperature readings
- Bluetooth Pulse Oximeter – Measures oxygen saturation levels in your blood
- Bluetooth Blood Pressure Monitor – Tracks blood pressure to identify potential concerns
All measurements are encrypted and securely uploaded to a cloud-based system, ensuring health information remains private and protected.
The Power of NEWS2 Scoring
When our Care Assistants take observations using the Whzan equipment, the system automatically generates a NEWS2 score (National Early Warning Score). This NHS recognised clinical indicator provides a reliable snapshot of your overall health at any given moment, helping to identify potential health deterioration that may require medical attention.
The NEWS2 system is trusted across the NHS and wider healthcare world and enables us to facilitate rapid medical referral when needed, helping you receive the right care at the right time.
How we Uses Whzan Technology
Our partnership with Whzan enables our Care Assistants to:
- Carry out routine health monitoring during regular visits
- Take basic clinical observations when clients report feeling unwell
- Recognise early signs of health deterioration
- Make appropriate onward referrals to healthcare professionals
- Support collaborative working with your GP and medical team
We can work closely with your GP, district nurses and other healthcare professionals to inform them of our monitoring capabilities and ensure seamless coordination of your care.

This week, the Whzan Blue Box proved its value once again when one of our valued clients, Beryl, reported feeling a bit under the weather. Rather than worrying or waiting for her condition to potentially worsen, we sprang into action.
Jo and Andrew from Right at Home Bournemouth and Poole visited Beryl at home, bringing the Whzan Blue Box to conduct a comprehensive health check. Within minutes, they were able to:
- Take Beryl's temperature, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation levels
