Flatford Mill offers attractive walks along the river and hot and cold drinks in the tearoom in the nearby granary (plus a well-stocked gift shop!). This is a National Trust property has a wonderful nature reserve with a beautiful wildlife garden. The Munnings Art Museum, Dedham

A regularly changing collection of paintings and drawings by the famous early 20th century artist, Sir Albert Munnings, are exhibited in the artist’s beautiful Georgian home in Dedham. You can see what’s events and workshops are currently happening at The Munnings Art Museum here. The ground floor is accessible by wheelchair. The grounds and garden café are breath-taking and directly accessible from the free car park.

Place for Plants

Place for Plants is a family-run garden centre, based at East Bergholt which is set in the beautiful Stour valley on the Suffolk-Essex border. This garden centre has a café and arboretum. The Centre is open throughout the year and the garden and arboretum are open from March to September. It makes for a great day out – find out more here
