Libby joined Right at Home Derby in May 2024 as a CareGiver, stepping into community care and quickly discovering the positive impact the role had on both her clients and her own work–life balance. Working in the community allowed Libby to balance her home life while doing meaningful, rewarding work - something she values highly.

Although Libby had not worked in a care role before joining Right at Home, she immediately found fulfilment in meeting new clients, building relationships and knowing she was genuinely helping people to live well at home. Her natural people skills, empathy and growing understanding of the care sector quickly became clear.

In September 2025, Libby was promoted to Recruitment Team Member, recognising her strong insight into what makes a great CareGiver. Having firsthand experience of delivering care, Libby is uniquely placed to identify candidates who truly share Right at Home’s values and person-centred approach.

Libby applied for the recruitment role because she wanted to use her practical knowledge of care in the community to help select the right people for the job - individuals who are compassionate, reliable and genuinely committed to making a difference. She plays an important role in supporting the recruitment process and ensuring new team members are well suited to both the role and the people they support.

Alongside her recruitment responsibilities, Libby continues to work care calls, as she would miss being directly involved in client care. This continued connection ensures she stays grounded in the realities of the role and maintains a strong understanding of both client and CareGiver needs.

Libby is thoroughly enjoying her role within the Recruitment Team and credits Right at Home’s comprehensive training for equipping her with all the knowledge and confidence needed to succeed. As with every role at Right at Home, she felt fully supported throughout her transition.
