Magic Moments: Celebrating Our Carers Who Go Above and Beyond

At Right at Home Lymm and Warrington South, our carers don’t just provide care — they bring kindness, empathy, and personal touches that transform lives every single day. We’re incredibly proud to share ten of our recent Magic Moments where our team went the extra mile to brighten the days of the people we support — and these are just a few examples of the many more acts of kindness happening every day.

1. Vi’s Homemade Birthday Cake

Our wonderful carer Wioleta (Vi) went above and beyond by baking a homemade cake to celebrate the birthday of a client’s husband — someone who isn’t even under our direct care. Not because she had to, but because she wanted to bring a little extra joy and warmth to the entire family during a special moment. This heartfelt gesture touched everyone deeply, bringing tears of happiness and perfectly illustrating what real care truly looks like.

2. Debbie’s Compassionate Support

After a tough day for a client’s family, our carer Debbie noticed a family member overwhelmed and needing a break. She encouraged her gently to take some time for herself, stayed close to the client to provide calm care, and even took home laundry to wash and dry so the family had one less worry.

3. A Thoughtful Gift: The Car Cane Mobility Aid

One of our carers quietly purchased and gifted a Car Cane Grab Bar to a client struggling with getting in and out of the car safely — no recognition wanted, just genuine kindness that made a real difference.

4. Nadia’s GEM Award and Dedication

Nadia recently stayed over an hour beyond her shift to ensure a client in pain received their medication on time. Her commitment earned her the GEM (Going the Extra Mile) Award — a well-deserved celebration of her compassion and professionalism.

5. Debbie’s Candle Lighting at Grappenhall Church

Debbie accompanied a client to Grappenhall Church, where the client lit a candle in memory of her late husband. Moments like these remind us how important it is to support our clients in the things they cherish most.

6. Wioletta’s Calming Pillow Spray

Noticing a client feeling upset at bedtime, carer Wioletta gifted a lavender and chamomile pillow spray and roller to help soothe and relax. She also ensured the family knew how to use it safely — a small gesture with a big impact.

7. Celebrating a Milestone Birthday

Our carer Emma surprised a client with a handmade card and his favourite chocolates to mark a milestone birthday. A very personal touch that brought a lot of joy and showed how much our carers truly care.

8. A Fresh Haircut for a Bedbound Client

Going the extra mile, one of our carers arranged for a mobile hairdresser to visit a bedbound client who hadn’t had her hair cut in months. The fresh cut lifted the client’s spirits and showed thoughtful, respectful care in action.

9. Emma’s Thoughtful Foot Care Help

While out running errands with her client, carer Emma learned he needed a specific foot gel that was hard to find. After checking local pharmacies, she ordered it online using her own account and arranged next-day delivery. She even followed up with a call to ensure the client knew where to find the parcel — a truly thoughtful act of kindness.

10. Lynne’s Thoughtful Birthday Gesture

When Lynne heard that her client’s daughter had a birthday coming up, she took the initiative to pick up a birthday card so her client could give it to her. A simple but meaningful gesture that meant the world to the family, demonstrating care that goes beyond the everyday.
