• Why did you start working in care?

I started working in care in 2006 after working in retail for many years 

• Where are you from?

Salford

• What did you want to be when you were younger?

I always wanted to be a nurse 

• If you could choose any super-power what would it be and why?

If I could have any superpower, it would be the ability to project a sense of calm and wellbeing. Easing people's anxiety and distress and creating a calm and positive atmosphere. 

• What do you do to unwind after a long day?

I love to read or spend time with my grandchildren. 

• What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to get into care?

Start with an open heart and a genuine desire to connect with people. The practical skills can be learned, but the ability to empathise and build relationships with people is what really makes a difference in the lives of the people you will be supporting.
