This year, at Right at Home, we want to shine a light on the incredible care professionals across our network and the vital work they carry out each day.

Through a new campaign, titled ‘Hidden Stars of Social Care’, we aim to give back to nominated team members by granting them a wish that makes a difference in their lives.

As well as surprising each team member with a wish that truly means something to them, the campaign will share their personal stories, with the aim of showcasing the talented, dedicated individuals working in social care.

The campaign follows our recent lobbying to media and government, in which we called on them to stop classing CareGivers as ‘low-skilled workers and give them the recognition they deserve as skilled professionals.

In 2021, we launched our widely successful ‘Tin Full of Wishes’ campaign, granting the wishes of ten lucky Clients, to celebrate the franchise network’s tenth anniversary.

Lucy Campbell, CEO, Right at Home UK said: “Our team members and Clients are at the heart of what we do. Without the incredible efforts of our professional workforce, we would not be able to carry out the vital work we do each day.  So we really wanted to give something back to them in a truly special way.

What is also important for us, especially in the current climate, is to shine a light on the stories of these individuals. Many people who don’t have a link to social care may not understand the lengths that workers in the sector go to, to truly make a difference for some of the most vulnerable in society. It’s no secret that the sector is facing challenges as the demand for care continues to grow. In order for us to leave no one without care, it’s vital that we shine a light on what an incredible profession this is and attract more caring, compassionate and dedicated individuals to join us on this mission.”

Our campaigns over the last few years have been a huge success, including our Careers in Care campaign which recently won the title of Business Initiative of the Year at the 2022 Leaders in Care Awards. Judges praised our dedication to making lasting and impactful change, not just for Right at Home, but for the entire social care sector. The campaign included a range of innovative resources including a Care Salary Calculator, a Careers in Care Quiz and a Careers in Care brochure, all of which aim to promote working in care and dispel common misconceptions.
