Places our CareGivers take their Clients in and around Crystal Palace include:

Crystal Palace Park this large park is great for walks and exploring.  It was laid out in the 1850s as a pleasure ground, centred around the The Crystal Palace (which was re-located from central London after the Great Exhibition).  Only the footings and steps of the Crystal Palace remain (after the fire in 1936) but you can still see interesting statues and the lakes as well as the Sports Centre.

The Triangle this is a great area to potter around and window shop in the collection of independent shops.  You can linger over a coffee too and watch the world go by. Colairos deli is a lovely place for coffee and a cake!

Crystal Palace

Crystal Palace is full of fascinating history and things to see and do.  Right at Home Mitcham Streatham and Dulwich holds its' staff summer party near the dinosaur lake under a marquee.  Crystal Palace is also famous for its football team - but the ground Selhurst Park is actually located a few miles away in Selhurst.  The local area near the site of the old Crystal Palace and the Triangle (shopping area) is actually called Upper Norwood.  Built on a hill some streets have fantastic views north, across South London to the City.

Michael Scott (Co-owner of Right at Home Mitcham Streatham and Dulwich) has close family roots in the area with his father having attended St Joseph's College (a Roman Catholic boys' secondary school) which was first established in Upper Norwood in 1855.  Michael's father was at the school during the Blitz and had his home destroyed by a V1 Rocket on 26th June 1944 - the family over surviving because his father was at school and his parents sheltered in the cupboard under the stairs - the only part of the house left-standing.  The picture here shows the St Josephs Boys in 1943 waving a Mosquito plane flyover.
