Meet The People Who Make a Difference
What truly sets good home support apart are its people. Each team member brings their own unique personality, experience, and warmth, creating a culture that feels less like a workplace and more like a family.
Our healthcare professionals build genuine relationships with their Clients and always know their important details, they also remember that smaller details. Maybe its a preferred snack or drink, a favourite song, or cherished memory, understanding that little things can also make a big difference.
Beyond our one-to-one care, there is a strong sense of teamwork with colleagues supporting each other, this shared commitment keeps standards high and clients safe.
Going Above and Beyond
Time and time again, our team demonstrates that exceptional home support improves lives because we;
- Take the time to listen
- Support independence while respecting individuality
- Offer reassurance to families through trust
- Find creative ways to bring moments of happiness
A Culture Worth Celebrating
To bring this to life, we are proud to share two real-life stories for May that showcase exactly what outstanding care looks like here at Right at Home Nottingham.
They reflect how every moment spent with our clients and every life touched is a powerful reminder of the impact our team has within the community.
A Story of Care, Trust, and 53 Years of Love
Following a hospital discharge, Phil and Val were recommended to Right at Home Nottingham by another healthcare professional, a decision that has made a meaningful difference to both their lives.
Val, a former healthcare worker herself, brings a wealth of experience and insight into what good care really looks like. Having witnessed both excellent and poor services throughout her career, she emphasised
"what truly sets a provider apart is how they connect with people and take the time to genuinely understand their needs"
Reflecting on their experience, Val shared how satisfied she has been with the support they are receiving, noting that this understanding has been at the heart of Phil’s progress.
Phil, a retired builder, has been on a journey of rehabilitation following his hospital stay. He spoke warmly about his care team, sharing that he genuinely considers each visit as part of his rehabilitation.
"The consistency, kindness, and encouragement from my healthcare team have played a vital role in rebuilding my confidence and has supported his recovery"
In particular, Phil highlighted Monica, one of the care team, who provided the reassurance and attentive support he needed during a crucial stage of his support requirements. Her approach helped him feel safe, understood, and motivated to make progress at his own pace.
In a touching moment, Phil turned to Val and said that she had also “saved his life,” reflecting their strong bond, celebrating 53 years of marriage this year.
Together, Phil and Val expressed their gratitude with a heartfelt thumbs up to the entire Right at Home Nottingham team a simple but powerful endorsement of the support, compassion, and dedication they have experienced.

Michael and Kayleigh keep moving.
Before his diagnosis, Michael loved his sports, fitness and movement.
His Tarzan like identity was built on staying active, pushing himself, and feeling strong.
Then came the diagnosis. Posterior Cortical Atrophy (PCA) a rare and complex form of dementia. And with it, an unspoken fear that his favourite hobbies would have to be sacrificed.
Not on our watch - Our support starts with the person, not the condition.
When Michael began his support with Right at Home Nottingham, we did not start by looking at what he couldn't do. We started by learning who he is and what he could do.
Working closely with Michael and his family, we build together a personalised dementia support plan. One designed not around limitations, but around possibilities.
Dedicated members of Michaels team like Kayleigh pictured above provide the right encouragement, understanding, and tailored support. With the right support the benefits go far beyond the physical, they improve brain health, personal confidence, and crucially, Michaels sense of self.
"I would highly recommend Right at Home to anyone. They provide excellent care — the team are caring, understanding, and so well matched to our needs. Right at Home take time to truly get to know their clients. They take a very personal, individual approach, and I have been delighted with the care we have received. They are always kind and responsive. I would recommend Right at Home to anyone looking for dementia care." Michaels wife Jo
