My first career was in accountancy and finance in the City, working initially for a medium-sized accountancy firm before spending 12 years in investment banking. I knew from an early stage that I didn’t want to spend my entire career in that environment, so I was always on the lookout for an exciting new challenge.
I’ve always had an eye for great service and quickly notice when it falls short: the grumpy assistant, the miserable waiter or the shop assistant who simply doesn’t care. My ethos has always been to strive for excellence, so anything less naturally stands out. I also believe that how we treat the most vulnerable members of our society says a great deal about who we are. Some of my proudest moments have come from helping complete strangers who simply needed a hand. Those two beliefs naturally led me to homecare. Having the opportunity to make a positive difference to people’s lives every single day is a genuine privilege.
