The Big Green Picnic: Smiles, Dancing and Money Raised for Dementia Adventure

Right at Home Swindon recently brought clients, families, carers and members of the local community together for our wonderful Big Green Picnic. The event was filled with music, dancing, laughter, delicious cakes and plenty of fantastic tombola prizes.

The afternoon was held in support of Dementia Adventure, an incredible charity helping people living with dementia enjoy outdoor experiences and supported holidays.

The Big Green Picnic was a fantastic opportunity for our clients, their families, carers and members of the local community to come together and enjoy a relaxed afternoon in great company. From the moment everyone arrived, the venue was filled with friendly conversation, smiling faces and plenty of laughter.

One of the highlights was an amazing performance from our live singer. The music created a brilliant atmosphere and soon had guests and members of the Right at Home team up on their feet and dancing together.

There was also an exciting tombola featuring a wonderful selection of prizes. Guests enjoyed trying their luck while helping us raise even more money for a very worthwhile cause.

Of course, no picnic would be complete without refreshments! There were plenty of teas and coffees to enjoy, along with a generous selection of delicious cakes and sweet treats.

The event was organised in support of Dementia Adventure, a charity that helps people living with dementia enjoy more active and fulfilling lives. Through supported holidays, outdoor activities and practical assistance, the charity creates valuable opportunities for people with dementia and their loved ones to spend quality time together and connect with nature.

Thanks to the kindness and generosity of everyone who attended, donated prizes, purchased tombola tickets or helped organise the event. We are extremely grateful to everyone who supported the day and helped make our Big Green Picnic such a happy, memorable and meaningful occasion.

Don’t worry if you couldn’t join us at the Big Green Picnic-our next fundraiser is just around the corner! Join the Right at Home Swindon team on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 1pm for a dog-friendly charity walk through Lydiard Park, raising vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society.
Bring your family, friends and four-legged companions-everyone is welcome!

We’ll be meeting outside the café before setting off together.
