Walking Together for a Cause Close to Our Hearts

This August, the Right at Home Swindon team will be coming together for our Annual Memory Walk at Lydiard Park, raising vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society and showing our support for people living with dementia and their families.

Dementia is something we see the impact of every day through the care and support we provide in our local community. That makes this cause especially important to us, and we want our Memory Walk to be a chance for colleagues, clients, families, friends and even four-legged companions to come together and make a difference.

Taking place on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 1pm, the walk will be family-friendly and open to everyone. Whether you join us, sponsor a walker, make a donation or simply help spread the word, every bit of support will help us raise as much as possible for Alzheimer’s Society.

Why This Walk Matters

Our Annual Memory Walk is about more than taking a few steps around Lydiard Park. It is a chance for our team, clients, families and local community to come together in support of people affected by dementia, while raising money for Alzheimer’s Society.

At Right at Home Swindon, we support people in their own homes every day, including many who are living with dementia. We see first-hand how important familiar surroundings, trusted routines, companionship and personalised care can be in helping someone feel safe, comfortable and independent.

That is why supporting Alzheimer’s Society feels especially meaningful to us. The charity works to support people living with dementia and their families, while also helping to improve understanding, awareness and access to support.

This year’s walk will take place at Lydiard Park on Wednesday 26 August 2026 at 1pm and has been planned as a relaxed, family-friendly event. Friends, relatives, children and dogs are all welcome to join us, making it a lovely opportunity to support an important cause together.

We are also encouraging walkers to share our fundraising page with friends and family and collect sponsors for taking part. Those who cannot attend can still support the event by donating, sponsoring someone they know or simply sharing the fundraiser to help us reach more people.

Dementia is the UK's biggest killer and one of the greatest healthcare challenges of our time. It is rare to meet someone who hasn't personally witnessed the devastation of dementia.

Our mission is to end that devastation.

– Alzheimer's Society

Our Annual Memory Walk is a chance to bring people together for a cause that is incredibly important to our team and to many of the families we support across Swindon. By walking, donating, sponsoring or simply sharing the event, every person involved is helping to raise awareness and support for people affected by dementia.
We are so grateful to everyone who chooses to get involved, whether that means joining us at Lydiard Park, supporting a walker or helping us spread the word. Community support like this can make a real difference and reminds us just how much can be achieved when people come together.

At Right at Home Swindon, we will continue to support people living with dementia and their families with compassionate, personalised care in their own homes. We hope this year’s Memory Walk will not only raise vital funds for Alzheimer’s Society, but also bring our local community together around a cause that means so much to so many people.
