Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton Partners with Mayfield View Care Home for Nationwide Dementia Adventure Initiative

Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton teamed up with Mayfield View Care Home in Ilkley over the summer to host the Big Green Picnic, part of a nationwide initiative led by the charity Dementia Adventure. The event brought together residents, families, staff, and the wider community for an afternoon celebrating the outdoors, creativity, and connection.

Guests enjoyed a traditional afternoon tea in the gardens, while live music from Craig Sutcliffe Music created a lively atmosphere. A hands-on flower arranging workshop with Cosmos Flowers gave residents and visitors the chance to express their creativity and take home their beautiful arrangements.

Through a prize draw supported by generous Ilkley businesses, the event raised £45 for Dementia Adventure, helping to support the charity’s mission of enabling people living with dementia to enjoy the wellbeing benefits of nature and the outdoors.

The day was made extra special thanks to Inception Business Technology Ltd, who sponsored the decorations – from vibrant bunting and banners to stylish team T-shirts – adding a splash of colour and fun to the celebration.

Paresh Mistry, Managing Director of Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton, said:

“The Big Green Picnic was a wonderful example of the power of partnership and community. As part of Dementia Adventure’s nationwide initiative, we were proud to work alongside Mayfield View to create a joyful day for residents and the community, while also supporting such an important cause.”

Both Right at Home Ilkley, Keighley & Skipton and Mayfield View Care Home would like to thank everyone who attended, donated, and contributed to making the Big Green Picnic such a success.
