Hannah-Louise Rushton - Care Assessor
- Why did you start working in care?
I went on work experience in high school and chose to work with my auntie, who was an Activities Coordinator in a Care Home. I really enjoyed seeing her make a difference in people’s lives. The rest is history — I went into caring at 17.
- Where are you from?
Manchester, Withington.
- What did you want to be when you were younger?
A Nurse.
- If you could chose any super-power what would it be and why?
I would choose the power to heal people, because helping others feel better and making a difference in their lives is something I’ve always been passionate about.
- What do you do to unwind after a long day?
Watch a good TV programme and maybe some chocolate (and the odd red wine, not on work nights of course!)
- What one piece of advice would you give to someone wanting to get into care?
Caring is hard work and full of ups and downs, but it’s also a very rewarding job. If you don’t truly have a passion for caring for people, it’s not for you.
